About Me

A ServiceNow-focused MCA graduate

Honest about where I am in my career, and confident in what I can already do on the platform.

I'm Sai Ram Manindra, a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) graduate focused on building my career around the ServiceNow platform. Through structured learning and consistent hands-on practice, I've developed a practical understanding of how the Now Platform works — from tables, forms and application menus, to client scripts, business rules and Flow Designer.

My knowledge spans administration, configuration, scripting, automation, data management, integrations and application development. I work with core ITSM concepts, and I'm familiar with the direction the platform is heading — including HRSD, OMT, ITOM and ServiceNow AI capabilities.

I'm entry-level, and I don't present myself as anything else. What I bring is a solid, hands-on foundation, a disciplined approach to learning, and genuine motivation to contribute to real-world ServiceNow work on a professional team.

Concepts
  • ServiceNow Fundamentals
  • Platform Overview
  • Core Concepts
  • Single Data Model
Features

Now Platform architecture · tables, forms, modules and applications built on one shared data model.

Practical: I understand how the Now Platform is organized — applications sit on a single data model where tables, forms and modules work together. That foundation shapes everything else I configure.

Concepts
  • Application Menus
  • Modules
  • Tables
  • Fields
  • Forms & Lists
  • Table Configuration
Features

Structuring navigation and data — menus, modules, tables, fields and list/form views.

Practical: I configure application menus and modules to structure navigation, and set up tables, fields, forms and lists so data is stored and presented in a useful way.

Concepts
  • Update Sets
  • User Administration
  • Roles
  • Groups
  • Reports
  • Reporting Concepts
Features

Moving changes between instances, managing users with roles and groups, and building reports.

Practical: I capture and move configuration changes between instances with update sets, manage who can do what with roles and groups, and build reports from platform data.

Concepts
  • SLA
  • Access Control
  • ACLs
  • Import Sets
  • Data Import
Features

Defining response targets, securing records with access control, and importing external data.

Practical: I define SLA conditions to track response targets, protect data with access control rules, and bring external data into the platform using import sets.

Concepts
  • Custom Applications
  • Custom Tables
  • Application Configuration
  • Email Notifications
Features

Building applications on custom tables and keeping people informed with notifications.

Practical: I create custom applications and tables, configure how they behave, and set up email notifications so the right people are informed automatically.

Concepts
  • Client Scripts
  • onLoad
  • onChange
  • onSubmit
  • onCellEdit
  • UI Policies
  • Data Policies
  • UI Actions
Features

Client-side event scripts and policies that shape the form experience and guide data entry.

Practical: I control the user experience with client scripts running at different events, keep forms consistent with UI and data policies, and add custom actions with UI actions.

Concepts
  • Business Rules
  • Server-side Scripting
  • Service Catalog
  • Catalog Items
  • Variables
  • Variable Sets
Features

Server-side logic with business rules and request-driven workflows through the service catalog.

Concepts
  • Flow Designer
  • Scheduled Jobs
  • Background Scripts
  • Automation
Features

Visual automation, recurring server-side tasks and ad-hoc script execution.

Scripting

ServiceNow scripting

Where ServiceNow solutions move beyond configuration — client-side and server-side JavaScript that makes the platform do real work.

Client Scripts

Form behaviour in the browser — onLoad, onChange, onSubmit and onCellEdit.

Business Rules

Server-side logic that runs on database operations like insert, update and delete.

GlideRecord

Server-side API for querying, reading and modifying records in any table.

GlideAggregate

Server-side API for counting, summing and grouping data across records.

Script Includes

Reusable, server-side JavaScript classes and functions called from anywhere.

GlideAjax

Client-to-server calls that fetch data or run logic without a full page reload.

Background Scripts

Ad-hoc server-side scripts run from the platform to test logic and fix data.

Scheduled Jobs

Recurring automated server-side tasks that run on a defined schedule.

UI Actions

Custom buttons and actions added to forms and lists to trigger behaviour.

server-side.js GlideRecord · Business Rule
var gr = new GlideRecord('incident');
gr.addQuery('priority', '1');
gr.query();

while (gr.next()) {
    gs.info('Critical incident: ' + gr.number);
}
client-side.js Client Script · onChange
function onChange(control, oldValue, newValue, isLoading) {
    if (isLoading || newValue === '') return;

    if (newValue === '1') {
        g_form.setValue('assignment_group', 'it_ops');
        g_form.showFieldMsg('priority',
            'Critical priority assigned', 'info');
    }
}
